ATM operations used to be reactive: a merchant calls, a customer complains, a technician is dispatched to find out what is wrong. Remote monitoring reverses the order. The network should know first.
What changes
Dispatch becomes planned. Parts are taken on the first visit. Cash-out events are anticipated. Security events are correlated with physical sensors rather than discovered after the fact.
What does not change
People still install, replenish, and repair. The future of operations is not an unmanned fleet. It is a fleet whose human work is informed.
